Most voters want Congress to investigate the connections between Comrade Creamsicle's mob and the Russians, and they also want Congress to investigate Russian influence on last year's election. Most Republicans don't want Congress snooping around in either area. They're worried about the unpleasantness that would be revealed.
So, will Congress try to please most Americans, or settle for keeping their shitty base happy? Hmm, that's a tough one.

The reason so many old white Republicans are happy? They can just choose not to believe any facts that don't match their limited comprehension of reality. For example, it's just not possible that the so-called president's travel bill for one MONTH is about the same as Obama's travel bill for one YEAR. (Well, actually it IS possible, but don't bother telling Cletus, Festus, Gomer, and Billy Ed, who are happily jerking each other off in their fantasy bubble).
