Screwed

Huffington Post: If Trump voters are angry now, wait until they see the screwing they'll get when Obamacare is replaced with Trump Care.

From Daily Kos, on the Republican Party's insistence that the ACA must be repealed because of exorbitant increases in health insurance premiums:

"Of the more than 90 percent of Americans who have health insurance, most get it from their job or the government. Premium growth has been low for those groups in the last few years.

The remainder buy their own insurance either through the Obamacare marketplaces or directly from an insurance company. Republicans who want to repeal the Affordable Care Act say this group has seen a rise in premiums.

But 85 percent of the people buying insurance through the marketplaces receive federal subsidies, which generally shield them from premium increases. This leaves just the remaining marketplace customers, and those who buy insurance directly, affected by the increases.

These two groups account for 3 percent of all Americans."

According to a recent Pew Research Center poll, only 17 percent of Americans want the ACA repealed completely (and only 44 percent of Republicans). The majority want it to continue as is or with modifications that improve it. Apparently, GOP dipshits like the Cheese Prince decided they can get rid of health insurance with no political consequences, or they just don't give a rat's ass.

The following statement was copied from an anonymous online comment regarding the poll, and truer words were never written:

An angry and ill-educated underclass is critical to Republican electoral success – that is why there is always a push for “school choice”, where public money can be diverted to religious schools where critical and scientifically sound thinking is discouraged.
