Contingency Plan?

There's a good chance the Supreme Court's Gang of Five, led by mob boss Fat Tony Scalia, will rip the heart out of the Affordable Care Act by ruling 5-4 that people who live in states that decided not to set up health insurance exchanges can't qualify for subsidies that make the mandatory coverage affordable. The number of citizens who are about to get screwed by the Scalia gang has been estimated at more than 6,000,000.

Expecting blowback, the Republicans have coughed up an alternative plan that will supposedly ease the pain and maybe even replace the ACA completely. Right.

The big question is this:

If the goddamned Republicans in Congress can develop a national health insurance system that's worth a shit, why didn't they do it during the Bush 43 years when they ran the government, or even while the ACA legislation was being worked out? This smells like another example of Republicans doing the only thing they know how to do: blowing smoke up the asses of yahoos with the same tired old shit (tax credits and market solutions) and hoping they can get away with it again.

Added 6:12 PM on Wednesday 4 March: As if there weren't already enough reasons to remove Fat Tony Scalia from the Supreme Court, add the fact that he's so fucking stupid, he trusts the Republicans in Congress to repair the damage he's about to cause.
