Thumb-Twiddling

It's been difficult to spend much time reading the news for the last week or so. The first debate between Joe and the Waste of Shit didn't go as well for Joe as anticipated, and the W/S was declared the winner by the media despite his refusal to answer the questions and stop his constant lying. Some liberal media talkers promptly began insisting that Joe be replaced as the Democratic nominee.

As if that wasn't depressing enough, the extreme court finally issued its 6-3 ruling on the presidential immunity issue, and many liberals slipped into defeatist mode, moaning that W/S had won again, since that's what media talkers were telling them.

The companies that employ media talkers and writers have a vested interest in creating and maintaining an atmosphere of intense suspense in political matters, since that keeps their readers and viewers available as advertising consumers. At this point in this particular election year, the best way to create suspense is to press the idea that the Waste of Shit is sitting on top of the world, with everything going his way.

In seven of the eight presidential elections since 1992, the Democratic candidate has won the popular vote, and the W/S has yet to receive at least 47% in two elections. I'm fairly confident Joe will win the next election if Democrats are fighting mad and determined to take out their rage on the W/S and the whole filthy TRashdUMP.

The corruption on the extreme court should make Democrats furious: Get mad and get the win, people

Added 5:58 PM Tuesday: It bears repeating. If the damned mainstream media had done their duty in 2016, rather than coddling the Waste of Shit with tons of free publicity and treating him like a perfectly normal Republican politician instead of the dangerous mental case he really is - the worthless fuck would never have won the nomination.

She Watched Him on TV

From a story in USA TODAY about voters in the three Rust Belt states that put Pootin' in the White House:

"In Luzerne County, Pa., Democratic county council member Eileen Sorokas — who volunteered for Obama, voted for him twice and even named a couple of ducks after him and the vice president — voted for Trump and is confident he’ll be a great president.

“He’ll handle himself pretty good,” said Sorokas, 69, who lives in a county where coal-mining jobs are gone and once-booming factories have long been shuttered. “I watched him on The Apprentice. … I think he’s a businessman and he’s going to do a good job. His livelihood is here.”

Pootin' won Pennsylvania by 44,292 votes, Wisconsin by 22,748 votes, and Michigan by 10,704 votes. That's 77,744 votes in three states combined that changed American history for the worse. Adding insult to injury, Green Party candidate Jill Stein got 49,941 votes in Pennsylvania, 31,072 votes in Wisconsin, and 51,463 votes in Michigan. If the Stein voters had switched to HRC, nobody would give a shit what Pootin' was tweeting at 3:15 AM on Tuesday morning.

Holy shit... are you kidding me ?

The Guru, seeking enlightenment and recreational opportunities, has established contact with the alien forces living among us. They're even less articulate and more psychologically unbalanced than I originally believed.

Winds of War

What a travesty! Obama has done nothing to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. He will have a civil war on his hands in America if the health care plan passes and results in higher taxes, etc. Posted on 10/15/2009 6:35:19 AM by DOP (so damned dumb he forgot the E).

Copied from the Austin American Statesman op-ed page. Another conservatard predicting civil war if taxes are increased to pay for health care reform. I don't know about anyone else, but I think an armed rebellion waged by conservatards against the U.S. government might be more fun to watch than the typical pro football game on Fox.

Utter nonsense in the Sunday paper

Viewpoints, Dallas Morning News

Kay Bailey Hutchison is a career politician, steeped in the politics of Washington, D.C. Although she has had an outstanding career in the U.S. Senate, the only "air" she would bring to the governor's mansion is the stale air and rhetoric of government politics. Rick Perry is the only fresh air we need. As we Texans like to say: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Scott R. Steenson, Dallas

The italicized part is a letter to the editor lifted from DMN's website. Scott Steenson is one of those people who embarrasses the state by claiming to be A Real Texan. Let's see if I have this fucking bullshit straight: Kay Bay is a career politician, as opposed to Ricardo, who's the only fresh air we need. Ricardo, who's been in elected office virtually his entire adult life and wants to be governor until he dies, is NOT a career politician ?

Rick Perry is a breath of fresh air in the same sense that a really long, loud fart is a breath of fresh air.

Clear as mud

Tere is clear empical evidence to support the view that consertavite Republican courts are much more judicial activists than are those thought to be more. I know facts can be rude, but this is rude fact. That it contradicts conserative ideologues fantasies still makes the facts however rude for them, the case.

Copied from Houston Chronicle opinion page

In the interest of fairness, I present this comment by warren42, posted in response to a
column by E.J. Dionne contending that in reality, judicial activism is practiced by the conservative side of the Supreme Court.

I usually copy internet forum comments by conservatives to illustrate my position that they're incapable of expressing intelligent ideas in proper English. Occasionally though, a liberal will dump gibberish loaded with errors in grammar, punctuation, and spelling, thereby demolishing what might otherwise be a worthwhile remark. Today, warren42 tops the list of people with thoughts better left unwritten.

According to The Bible

Usually the comments sections on newspaper opinion blogs are filled with semi-literate ranting that is only worthy of scorn and ridicule, but now and then I'll stumble across something that makes me smile rather than sneer. What follows was copied from the comments following letters to the DMN defending a beauty pageant contestant who stated her views on gay marriage. If The Hair God calls a special session, maybe Republicans can get some of these rules introduced as state law. Maybe they can make taking God's name in vain a capital offense, since it's a violation of one Commandment.

I got some other questions for Miss America:

1. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord - Lev.1:9. The problem is my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?

2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?

3. I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness - Lev.15:19- 24. The problem is, how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.

4. Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?

5. I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself?

6. A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination - Lev. 11:10, it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this?

7. Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here?

8. Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev. 19:27. How should they die?

9. I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?

10. My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev. 19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? - Lev.24:10-16. Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)
