Tweets

The so-called precedent (sic) tries to communicate with the world via Twitter, but most of his stuff is the pathetic drivel of a diseased mind. At best, it's a total waste of time.

On the other hand, tweets posted by smart people with writing ability, like David Frum, are some of the best reading available today. Witty, perceptive, concise.

Added 10:21 AM on Tuesday 2 May: People wouldn't have as many reasons to ridicule the fat asshole if he would just STFU and put away his phone.

Going rogue, or goin' crazy

Wondermom just continues to astonish me. She's cranked out her 400-page memoir in almost no time. She's bitchin', as we used to say in the 60s. Sometimes it takes me an hour just to get three sentences the way I want them. I can't imagine how long it would take me to write four hundred fucking pages.

Added 11:48 am, Thursday, October 1st:

More on the rogue here. I have a feeling this fucking book will also set a new record for going from the retail shelf to the remainder table. If the suckers who are lining up to pay full price would be patient, they could get a copy for 99 cents in a few months.

Some good news

In the early days of this blog, I got interested in the activity known as the "Six Word Memoir." The idea is to sum up your life, or the essence of your being, in exactly six words. I gave it a shot, and my attempt has been positioned in the sidebar at your right: Life hammered some sense into me. On Band of Butters I added a second try: Some of my balloons were popped.

Hooray for a little pleasant news for a change. In his comment below ("Signing off..."), Larry Smith complimented me on my six-word memoir, and invited me to submit it for publication. I've been indulging fantasies by writing the blogs, so it's nice when someone appreciates my writing and offers to share it with a broader audience. Okay, so it's only six words... it's still a start.
