Tainted Elections

As much as I hope I'm wrong, I can't stop thinking that we may have seen the last honest election in the U.S. when Obama defeated Mittens in 2012. In the two corrupted elections I've personally experienced (2000 and 2016), the Democratic popular vote winner was defeated by the GOP candidate in the Electoral College. I can understand why Republicans aren't interested in taking every possible action to ensure that elections aren't corrupted, since they always win when things go wrong.
