According to the main television rating service, 59.2 million people watched all or part of the third (final) presidential debate. The audience was larger for both of the earlier debates, but considering the third one was devoted to foreign policy, I'm surprised the viewership was as large as it was. Elsewhere on the tube, 18.8 million people watched football and baseball games. The combined audience for politics and sports was 78 million people, with roughly 76 percent watching the debate and 24 percent watching the games.
