Somethin' Gotta Give

Something isn't adding up here. On the one hand, there are polls being publicized that show The Blob has 55 percent approval for his masterful, beautifully effective conquest of the COVID-19 pandemic. His approval on that issue is roughly 12 percent higher than his typical overall job approval over the past 24 months.

On the other hand, another Morning Consult poll reported today shows that 74 percent of Americans are in favor of a national quarantine. Anybody who's seen or read about the afternoon campaign rallies being shown on TV under the phony label "press briefings" knows that the last goddamn thing The Blob wants to see is most of the U.S. labor force trying to stay alive by staying at home.

The disconnect here is that over half of a population can't be for something if three-fourths of the same population is against it. Even I can do that math. Until proven wrong, I'm assuming that Blob is getting the benefit of positive reviews from TV viewers who haven't been paying close attention to his reality show since 2017, and his approval on pandemic management will be closer to 42 percent than 55 percent in a few weeks. After the latecomers learn that just because he's on TV doesn't mean he's telling them the truth.
