The second impeachment trial of Cheez Doodle skidded to an end yesterday when 57 Senators voted to convict him, and 43 RepubliQans voted not to. Getting seven (R)s to do the right thing is confirmation that the presentation by House managers was persuasive and effective, and maybe enough voters have been influenced to permanently turn against Cheezy to ensure he's doomed as a candidate in any future election. Ten (R) votes in the House in favor of impeachment, and seven more (R) votes in the Senate in favor of conviction? I'll take that as an indication that there are still a few Republicans who aren't Depraved Defenders of Donald (DDDs).
There was a little late excitement yesterday over the matter of calling witnesses and extending the trial. As I've come to expect, a lot of liberals were critical of the outcome because being disappointed with Democrats is something that comes naturally to them. Daily Kos has an explanation of why they're wrong this time too.
Trying to choose one (R) as the most worthless chickenshit coward is almost impossible, but former VP Mike Puntz is a top contender, along with Rafael (Ted) Cruz and Lonely Lindsey.
