Q NOTES # 540: Short Cuts 45

Of course the former guy is taking credit for the Texas abortion ban. Taking credit and avoiding blame is what he's all about. Especially taking credit he doesn't deserve and avoiding blame he deserves.

If it's good enough for Texas, why the hell not? Now that the Texas Taliban has enacted a law that lets any Jim Bob file a lawsuit against any Peggy Sue who drove her sister to an abortion clinic, then every blue state should enact a law authorizing anyone to sue anybody who refuses to get the COVID vaccination. Let's see how that works.

In the same general realm of vigilante justice, Juanita Jean explores the origins and consequences of this insane idea held by many fat right-wing white guys that they can essentially make arrests to keep things they don't like from happening.

Greg Abbott cemented his reputation as a worthless political hack years ago when he was still the Texas AG, loudly promoting the state's voter ID law because election fraud was out of control in the state. It wasn't, of course. In fact, fraud that could be prevented by the proposed ID mandate was virtually non-existent. Greg, being one of the worst (R) bottom-feeders, is an old dog who recycles a couple of old tricks. Now he's using voting fraud as the rationale for the new Democratic vote suppression bill the legislature puked up.
