Q NOTES # 726: Trumpism? What's that mean?

I just finished skimming an article at electoral-vote.com which discusses the idea that Trump is fading, while trumpism is not. It's a good article, but it raised questions for me.

It's trendy for print and electronic news media organizations to blather about how Donald Pudd transformed the GOP by re-making it in his own image or some such horse manure. So what is trumpism exactly, and how is it different from what the old GOP has been dumping out since Reagan was elected in 1980?

The two big "policy" scores of Pudd's term were (a) signing a massive package of tax breaks for billionaires, and (b) getting three hardcore right-wingers seated on the Supreme Court. In the case of the tax cut bill, any (R) president with control of Congress could've accomplished that. As for the three Supreme Court additions, most of that was accomplished due to the evil conduct of Moscow Mitch, and the unfortunate timing of RBG's demise. The Pudd nominees themselves match the established (R) pattern that produced Fat Tony Scalia, Scumbag Sammie Alito, and Clearance Sale Thomas.

The only things that would be considered unique about Pudd's so-called precedency (sic) were the following, which are the key elements of trumpism (if the term is used to differentiate this asshole from the three (R) assholes who preceded him).

  • He was able to begin his political career in the most powerful elected office in the world with critical assistance from Russia.
  • He had no experience, knowledge, skills, or ability that qualified him to hold any elected office, least of all this one.
  • His ignorance and incompetence were dwarfed by his depravity, corruption and mental problems (narcissistic sociopath).
  • He was not a traditional U.S. president; he was a mediocre TV reality show version of a mediocre president. His four years were characterized by constant chaos, destruction, mistakes, misinformation, self-enrichment, and criminal activities, with no penalties or accountability for any of it.
  • He staffed his administration (sic) with vermin who were also incompetent and/or corrupt in order to meet Putin's goals of weakening the United States internationally, and destroying it from within by trashing traditional institutions, discarding national values, and dividing its people.

The imbeciles, goobers and yahoos forming the membership of MAGA are devoted to Pudd because they're convinced he's just like them.

  • Will they demand the only genuine Pudd, or will they be satisfied with a cheap imitation?
  • How far will the would-be replacement Pudd go to be like original Pudd?
  • And, can anyone who promises to replicate Pudd's four years win a national election?
