Pitts: Is President Bush still a man of the people?
Sometimes I'll come across something in the newspaper that sums up my thoughts better than I can myself. The link above is to a column in today's Austin American Statesman written by Leonard Pitts. As voters, we Americans always get the leaders we deserve. In Texas, we elected W twice, and Rick Perry so many times I've lost count. That speaks volumes about us.
Moving on to other things: One of the past week's controversies involved statements Hillary made that clearly indicated her belief that McCain was better qualified to be president than Obama. Many Dems saw that as a really low blow. One pundit compared the remark to something Clinton would say if she was angling for a spot as McCain's VP.
Obama, kicked in the shins repeatedly last week, is now kicking back and guess who's whining ? The Obama campaign is being compared to the Ken Starr inquisition. Get used to it, sweetheart.
