Taxing polls

Uh oh... things aren't working out for Republicans this week. The new Gallup poll indicates public resentment toward health care reform may be fading, with more people warming to the notion. Republicans don't worry about Obama failing as much as they worry about him succeeding. The last damned thing the GOP wants or needs is a majority of voters feeling good about health care and unworried about the economy.

Added 10:26 am, Wednesday 24 March: Then we have these results. Seems like Rasmussen has found a niche in the opinion poll market, somehow always producing numbers that show most people are in favor of the Republican, conservative, or Tea Party agenda. This allows Republicans, conservatives and teapeople to keep making the argument that they are the true voice of the people. Any time teapeople claim Americans are against something, it's a safe bet they'll try to back up their claim with a Rasmussen poll.

Added 10:46 am, same day: According to a Harris poll, 24 percent of Republicans believe that Obama is the Anti-Christ. Polls are mainly important because they give us some sense of the level of insanity in the USA. The best measurements of American craziness are still presidential election results, but weekly opinion polls fill in the gaps.
