Recollections

One of my favorite pastimes these days is watching old movies on TCM. Occasionally I have a chance to re-watch a movie that I first saw when I was a kid, maybe between ages five and twelve years old. What I've discovered is that sometimes the old movies are better than I remember them, but more often they're not as good.

Reading some of the stuff that's been written about Ronald Reagan on the 100th anniversary of his birth, I've decided that Reagan's somewhat like an old movie on Turner Classics: better than I remember him, but nowhere near as good as Republicans remember him.
