Every morning when I wake up feeling good, I give thanks for at least that much. Things I took for granted when I was in my 20's are meaningful now.
I was drying my razor after I shaved this morning, and accidentally slit my right thumb. Not too painful, but more bleeding than I expected from a cut that small. I stopped the bleeding with a band-aid, and quickly gave thanks again.
The weather forecast last night was for steady rain from 6:00 AM until midnight today, but by this morning the prediction was that rain wouldn't begin until about 2:30 PM. That allowed enough time to walk the three miles I'd expected to lose to the weather, so I gave thanks a third time. I carried my umbrella just in case. I was about a mile from home at noon when enough light rain began falling to require an umbrella. I cussed at the weather, but gave thanks for the umbrella.
Added 3:24 PM: Ignorant Senate wannabe Herschel Walker challenged intelligent MSNBC host Joy Reid to a TV debate any time. Reid jumped on the challenge and Herschel disappeared, proving he's all hot air and horse shit.
