I'm not much of a pro football fan, but I decided a few weeks ago I'd jump on the New England Patriots bandwagon, since they had a chance to make NFL history as its only 19-0 team ever. Looks like I put the jinx on 'em. I turned on the game just as the 2nd quarter started, and stayed with it to the bitter end.
I have a hard time putting up with the crap factor on Fox, and tonight was no different. The game itself was just a boring head-butting contest until the 4th quarter, when it finally got interesting. It would've been nice to be rewarded with a Patriots victory, but no such luck; they couldn't close the deal, and the Giants won 17-14 on a late TD. I saw enough of those fourth-quarter collapses to last a lifetime in the past two A&M football seasons. Anyway, next up is national signing day, then football is over for a few months.
I'm a believer in omens, and maybe Super Bowl 42 is an omen for Super Tuesday. The Patriots couldn't close the deal, and maybe Hillary and McCain won't be able to either.
