Paralysis

Another column by Paul Krugman regarding the condition of our federal government. I don't always agree with him, but his viewpoints are usually interesting. I suppose in his own way, he's as predictable as George Will or Krauthammer. Today's commentary deals with the ability of Senate Republicans to bring things to a grinding halt. In the American system, the minority party is always in the best position since they'll have enough power to influence, possibly even direct, the flow of congressional business, but no one will actually expect them to lead or accomplish a goddamned thing. The Republicans, who want to control the government so they can eliminate it, are uniquely qualified to fill the role of the minority party in this arrangement.
