Replay

An excellent column by Leonard Pitts in the Chronicle this morning, welcoming a Palin candidacy in 2012 as a moment of truth the country needs. Occasionally something is published that sums up my own thoughts better than I ever could myself, and the Pitts column is an example. We got eight years of W because dimwits who want leaders no smarter than themselves are allowed to vote, and Palin is as close as we'll get to a presidential candidate with exactly the same limitations and public appeal as George W. Bush --- a good ole boy in heels and a short skirt. Maybe America wants a not-so-instant replay of 2001-2008, and deserves one.
