One of my all-time favorite movies is DR STRANGELOVE (OR HOW I LEARNED TO STOP WORRYING AND LOVE THE BOMB). And one of my favorite scenes in the movie is the one in which Gen. Buck Turgidson (played by George C. Scott) tells the POTUS (Peter Sellers) something like this: "I don't want to judge before all the facts are in, Mister President, but it's beginning to look like General Ripper exceeded his authority."
General Jack D. Ripper was the demented USAF commander who launched the surprise nuclear attack on the Russkies.
All of which is the buildup to this: I don't want to judge before all the facts are in, but at this moment it looks like Barack Obama is about to give the congressional Republicans a knee to the groin they aren't gonna forget for a while. We shall see.
